Moments In Time emphasises the beauty of the ordinary, encouraging audiences to become more conscious of their surroundings and more grateful for their place within them. Through her artwork, Alexandra aims to capture the context in which she lives and share her perspectives and experiences. Familiar places, routines, and relationships often become overlooked with time and familiarity. These warm and intimate pieces encourage audiences to appreciate the everyday beauty of their lives and treasure the special bonds they may have made along the way. Alexandra was inspired by how artists have depicted their shared desire to capture fleeting moments and scenes, demonstrating an awareness of inevitable change.

Alexandra Lawry is a nineteen-year-old artist from South Gippsland whose practice primarily centres on oil painting and portraiture. Drawing inspiration from the people closest to her, her work frequently features herself, friends, family members, and her cat, Mondo. Through her paintings, Alexandra aims to create lifelike resemblances while conveying the emotional connections that exist between herself and her subjects. Alexandra is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne and recently had her Year 12 final artwork featured in the National Gallery of Victoria’s 2026 Top Arts exhibition.
