Founded in 1895, The Proms, formally named the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts Presented by the BBC, is an eight-week summer season of daily orchestral classical music concerts held annually, predominantly in the Royal Albert Hall in central London. The Last Night Of The Proms is usually lighter in style than the preceding weeks of music, with popular classics being performed, followed by a second half of British patriotic pieces.
