Hello Red Planet is a humorous theatrical celebration of our community’s shared history. This family-focused production engages with local residents to collect their perspectives and stories, and then integrates these into a public ‘info-night’ comedy puppet show.

Baw Baw Shire is being re-located to Mars (we promise, it’s the best way to dodge those Earthly troubles), and this info session is required viewing. Tired of lush Mt Baw Baw? Embrace the endless shades of Martian red. No more mosquitos, no more noisy corellas and no more hayfever!

Ahead of the ‘info-night’ audio interviews with local residents are recorded, investigating the pride, problems and shared stories of the local community. These are edited and re-purposed using puppetry and animation techniques and presented at the main public event where two hilariously out-of-touch futurist developers will make their impassioned pitch on why and how the community will be relocated to the new Mars colony.
