NGV Kids on Tour is an initiative which sees the National Gallery of Victoria partner with community venues across Victoria to offer children and families free school holiday activities and the chance to engage with art and design.
The theme for 2021 is ART IS FOR EVERYONE! Explore art and design, play art games and turn school holiday boredom into creativity with the Art is For Everyone! take-home activity booklet which includes:
* Art-making activities
* Art games
* Art-making resource for autistic children
NGV Kids and the Olga Tennison Autism Research Centre, La Trobe University have collaborated to create the art-makiing resource, Let's Make a Pattern, to support autistic children. See ngv.melbourne/access for a supporting guide for parents.
The recommended age for the activity booklet is upper primary or younger children with the help of an adult. Take home activity booklets are available for collection from the Baw Baw Arts Alliance or West Gippsland Arts Centre from Monday 4 January.
NGV Kids Summer Festival, 9-17 January 2021, will present a range of online programs, including performances and artist-led workshops which can be watched from home via ngv.melbourne/kidsfestival.
